The Kasatori Junior Green Club was established at Uji City Kasatori Elementary School, and on Friday, July 19th, 2024, they were issued their registration certificates.
Those in attendance at the ceremony to present the certificates included the Higashi-Kasatori district chief, who had worked hard to establish the club, and the chair of the school management council, as well as the Director of the Agriculture, Forestry, Commerce and Industry Department at the Yamashiro Regional Promotion Bureau of Kyoto Prefecture and the Director of the Forest Promotion Division, and the Director of the Agriculture, Forestry and Tea Industry Division at the Industry and Tourism Department of Uji City and the Director of the School Education Division at the Board of Education.
After the leader, Mr. Uchida, gave his speech, the Kyoto Prefecture representatives presented the children with their registration certificates, caps and scarves, and the sixth-grade members of the group made a pledge to commit themselves to their activities from now on.
It has been eight years since the last time a Junior Green Club was established in Kyoto Prefecture, and the number of the clubs in the prefecture has now reached 22.
